Purple Flower Tutorial

Start with 6 large petals. Take each petal and fold in half along the straight edge. Stitch.

Pull stitch tight and stitch again to secure.

Take another petal, fold in half, stitch.

Take another stitch to secure, stitching through first and second petal.

Repeat with 3rd petal.

Take another stitch to secure, stitching through other petals.

Repeat until all 6 petals are folded and stitched.

Flip over to back, stitch first to last petal forming flower.

Knot thread and you're done with one layer.

Repeat this process on the small petals until you have one small petal flower and one large petal flower layer.

Next we create the center.
Take circle center and start a running stitch around the edge.

Stitch all the way around.

Start to pull the thread until you form a bowl shape.

Take little scraps left from cutting flower pieces and cut into tiny pieces to use as stuffing.

Take tiny scraps and stuff into "bowl".

Pull thread tight to form a ball shape. Run needle back and forth through edges pulling tight to secure the "ball center".

Don't cut the thread at this point. Stitch through a small petal layer and a large petal layer to form the finished flower.

Pull thread tight to secure.

Go back up and down through all layers to secure the flower together. Knot and you're done.

On the last pair, stitch through small petal layer and large petal layer to form flower.

Pull thread tight to secure. Bring needle back up through to the top of the flower and attach another pair of green centers.

Stitch though center to the bottom of the flower. Bring needle back up through the flower center to the top and attach the final green center pair. (Try to stitch each pair in a different direction to get a more realistic looking flower center.)

Stitch through all the layers again. Fluff, knot and you're done.
